Dorothea – Curvy 1950’s Two Seater Sofa

Dorothea hails from the 1950s and she’s soft, inviting and curvaceous, like all the best glamour pusses! Her height, her tilt and the gently arch of her back, lift this frame above the norm and make her a very comfortable sit. We’ve transformed her into a thoroughly modern gal with new upholstery in a vibrant burnt orange wool, she’s the perfect place to curl up, for as long as life will let you..

These early midcentury two seaters are a sight to behold and restore beautifully, we just love them.

Dorothea with her arced profile and higher back design is a really comfortable small sofa. Her size makes her versatile and she would be the perfect piece to brighten a neglected corner or alcove.

We have used a lovely burnt orange wool for her upholstery with dark tones and even some mustard in the mix. It’s bright but not too bright and will bring vibrancy and life to any space.

Every Pelikan-restored piece is stripped of all old upholstery and fully reupholstered from the wooden frame out, using modern foam, upholstery materials and fabrics, ensuring the finished piece feels like a new sofa or chair but retaining its original ‘bones’ and design integrity. All our restored pieces comply to current fire retardancy regulations for domestic use as a minimum.

It’s sometimes difficult to convey the subtlety of fabric colour in photos and we are always happy to send out fabric swatches or set up a visit of you wanted to come and try our pieces out in person.

Using trusted, insured drivers, delivery is included in the sale price for most UK mainland addresses. Full details of our Inclusive Delivery Terms can be found within our T&Cs. Delivery can usually be arranged within 6-8 weeks, often sooner. If you would like to arrange your own collection/delivery, please get in touch and we will discount the sale price.

To try and be fair to all, we do not hold pieces unless a 10% reservation deposit has been paid.
